Event Title: Six Degrees Society Digital Members Only: Crafting Your Five Word Life Story: A Workshop for Powerfully Communicating Who You Are and What You Do with Hillary Rea
“So, what do you do exactly?” often feels like the dreaded question that spirals into the deeper
existential crisis of “Who am I?”
And this dread spiral can result in a number of communication challenges including:
• Deflecting and asking a lot of questions about other people
• Speaking for way too long with no direction or purpose
• Defaulting to the speaking style of someone else entirely
• Freezing up and not sharing anything at all
Storytelling is the communication tool that will dig you out of the dread and into a space where
you will have full ownership of your voice and your words.
It is possible to answer those “What do you do?” questions with a calm confidence and full
ownership of what makes you you.
Your Five Word Life Story is the starting place for feeling like yourself while communicating
This exercise will help you:
• Provide others with a true glimpse of who you are.
• Provide YOURSELF with a true glimpse of who you are.
• Dissolve your self-limiting beliefs, as well as the old, stale stories that others are telling
• Understand the nuance of why storytelling is an essential communication tool
Join Tell Me A Story Founder, Hillary Rea, for this interactive, “dip-your-toes” approach to crafting
your personal narrative. By the end of this session, you will feel energized to further your
brainstorming. You’ll have a starting point for powerfully communicating what you do. Plus you’ll
leave motivated to tell the stories that illuminate your personal and professional brilliance.
