Event Title: Six Degrees Society Digital Presents: Psyched 101: An Overview of Using Psychotherapy as a Tool to Work Towards Fulfilling Your Life Goals with Keeley Teemsma
What’s Happening? Have you ever wondered exactly what happens in psychotherapy? For many of us, the assumption is that it is complaining about our childhoods. And while that certainly can be a part of something to work on, psychotherapy can take the shape of whatever you need it to be. This workshop will help you to understand the basics of psychotherapy including how to choose a therapist, an overview of the most common therapeutic styles, and how to set realistic expectations for your therapist and for yourself. You’ll learn about setting a purpose for psychotherapy- whether that be working on a clinical/diagnostic issue or reframing your cognitive processes so that you can progress in feeling fulfilled in your life.
